I had to get a haircut away from home. I hate doing it. I had a bad experience as a kid where some cheap stylist my mother dragged me to cut my ear really bad with her scissors. The scar is finally fading thirty years later, but I am still really careful to stick with stylists that I know and can trust not to leave me bleeding. My college reunion snuck up on my schedule, and the next thing I knew, I was on my way back to my college town and needing a trim. I decided to visit my old Bloomington barber in the Mall of America and see if one of the guys who used to cut me during was still there. Lo and behold, one was and I got a good cut from a pair of familiar hands. I even looked younger after the cut, which is good at a reunion. I guess the barber was trying to get me to look like I used to.
